I would like to alert all on here to a bad vendor. I recently deceided to purchase a electronic scale. I saw on here, a post by a gentleman that he had purchased a "Gem Pro 250" scale from 123stores. I looked up 123stores and ordered the same scale, via the internet. The scale arrived two weeks ago and it does not work. I contacted 123stores and they told me to contact the manufacturer. I looked thru the contents of the package and saw a U.S. repair center in Phoenix, Az., the only one in the U.S. I contacted them but have not gotten a resolve to my problem.

I contacted the credit card company with the problem and said I wanted to stop the charge to my account. No problem. She, the credit card agent, called 123stores with me on the line. They, 123stores, say they have no responsibility on the purchase.

123stores turns out to be located in Cairo, Egypt. When asked for a return address to ship the defective scale to, they would not give an address. When I asked them to arrange a pick-up of the scale, they would not do that either. As a result, the credit card company is issuing the credit and said they would pursue 123stores.

Sorry to be so lengthy, but, I want to make everyone on this site aware of what a bad company 123stores is to do business with. I would not recommend anyone to purchase anything from these people. They are not trustworthy, and their merchandise is not what they advertise (100% guaranteed).

I hope that I can save some of you from a horrible internet purchase. You and I can act in good faith, but it seems there are some vendors that just can't be trusted.

Good luck,

Jim

Jim, In the box there should be a lifetime guarantee form that you tells you how to return the scale. It requires a sales receipt and the guarantee form filled out . Mail the scale and the paperwork and in about 2 weeks you should get a new one.

Just a thought but could this be a "gray market" product? Sometime ago when I was in to photography you could buy equipment outside the U.S. that lacked the U.S.A. warranty at a considerable savings. That was risk you took!

How about less than grey market...just a cheap knock off ??
Was the paper in the box or not ??

Gentlemen - Thanks for your inputs. I have the problem solved with the credit card company crediting my account. My main concern was to warn everyone on here about a bad company to do business with, 123stores.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are a "grey market" company, especially since they would not give their address to me or the woman from the credit card company. The person that I talked to at 123stores had a heavy accent, sort of Indian or Malaysian.

All I can say is, please be careful who you order from. Your credit card company can get things straightened out, but, it's a ordeal you have to go thru. Just not worth the problem.
