Priming tool question

I use a sinclair for benchrest and have a pair of lees for everything else. Is there a priming tool that uses regular shell holders same as the press? My oddball stuff i have to use my orange crusher press to prime but thats a pain. Im out of the loop on priming tools i guess

The RCBS does use a shell holder like you are looking for. Tony

The rcbs with round tray works with shell holders and works better than the newer universal square tray.

Seems like i have one of those in amongst my junk. Does it have a bar that blocks off the tray and jams primers up?

They do stick at times in the up position if dirty. For mine , I wouldn't say jam, the push rod at times stays up and the primer won't slide in place. A slight tap of a finger and the rod goes back down and all is a go. Never had a real jam even when I feel like some torture and do a thousand round .223 on the single press.

I do that in a dillon. Im talkin about the metal rod that goes into the primer stream to cut off the tray from the primer being seated. Has a slot cut in it for the primer to advance once the handle is all the way released. Maybe i should revisit it. I try to shy away from all things RCBS

The primer is advanced after the rod goes down. The primed goes through a simple shoot from the tray only one at a time. Maybe the slot you are thinking of is the cam that the rod rides on? Put in some time and dig it out, sounds like time to rumage old stuff and find some trading stock, that's always good sport. I'm not trying to sell on rcbs , just the brand I grew up with, lost of meat in the freezer too.

Yea i found it. The part i was talkin about is the crescent shaped blued rod thats bolted to the moving arm. Its stamped steel and has a big bur on it that jams it up. Ill just fix it and use it. I dont guess redding makes a hand priming tool. Im a redding fan or i like rcbs stuff made in the 80's or before. And as for trading stuff I have a 10x25 storage unit packed full of stuff i dont want to keep in my shop. 99% of it is very nice benchrest quality stuff I just dont use anymore and keep to bail new shooters out of jams. Found 4 brand new harrels presses and a redding br30 powder measure new in box last time i was there.
