Pricing comparrison?

I have been debating buying a Savage LRPV in a .223 for some benchrest and some FTR shooting. I might do some off the bipod and sandbag from time to time. Anyways I was wondering if a basic more accurate rifle could be built for less or around the same price as the LRPV? I was thinking starting with a stevens\savage action.

What are your opinions on this? any build suggestions?

If you are going with a Savage, this is a good place to start.
