Powder for 6PPC LV Rifle?

Dear all,

I recently bought a 6PPC LV rifle (Light Varmint) with a ~20“ barrel (Hart 14 1/4 twist).

Just FYI:
My HV rifle has a ~23“ barrel

Of course the LV weighs a lot less than the HV (shorter barrel etc).

I am currently wondering about powder choice - even with N130 I receive a huge muzzle flash with just ~24grs of powder…
Of course the barrel is 3“ shorter than my HV rifle - but how do I compete with that rifle?
Is it typical to shoot faster powders, e.g. N120 or even N110?
What velocities are recommended for 68grs bullets?
I assume it will be hard to reach even 3.000fps…

TY

yes n133 and do a single shot ladder over a chrono and see what it does. maybe someone can comment on the twist ?/ my rifle tends to be happy with 68's at around 29...so start low, chrono and then work up a load

3350-3370 fps is a good node to be in. With N-133 it will be around 28.6-28.8 That's with 2019 powder with a 23" bbl

Anyone shooting AA2015 ? I still have a few pounds of two different lots of 2015 from when they were making LT32. Two completely different burn speeds. One slow like 8208 and one about a grain hotter. I think it shot very well. Have some LT32 and N133 also. Haven’t shot in a long time.

14.5 twist???
If thats correct you may want a shorter bullet---ie: .790 jacket 65 grain
If you could find (.750 jacket with 62 gr bullet) would be perfect

Velocity range 3250--3400+

I recommend VV133-----28-30 grain----start low and work up
LT 32 would be 2nd choice

Make sure you have your touch point and Jam #'s written down once determined
The seating deapth is as important as powder charge--Maybe more important???

This is my opinoin that works for me
Good luck
