Piller bedding or Glass bedding

I have a Cooper Classic Mod 22 in 22-250AI. They don't come with a glass bedding. So I'm wondering if I should have it glass bed or Piller bed. What best?

Depends. My opinion is that in a wood stock, including laminate, pillar bedding is best when done in conjunction with a stress free glass bedding job. In many synthetic stocks or stocks with aluminum bedding blocks, where the material is less prone to compression, glass bedding is usually sufficient.

I usually shoot them first to see how they perform. One particular old Sako 6mm PPC USA of mine has never even been out of the stock - it just shoots perfect as it is, factory wood stock and all. If your Cooper shoots well, it may not need anything. My only Cooper is a Phoenix M-22, so I can't compare.

mod 22 cooper

If you take the action out of the stock you will likely find that cooper only glass beds the recoil lug area. I have a mod 22 in 220 swift and although the entire action isnt bedded the lug area is. and it shoots extremely well.
