Looking for your pet load for a 40x 222 Will be shooting at 100 yards
Is there a web site for accuracy loading data ?

Might try 24.5 gr of H4895 with a 52 gr match bullet. It works very well for me and has mild pressures in my Remington 700V.

20.5 gr 4198/52 gr HP was a classic load. With the new H4198 extreme, it might be a bit different.
Regards,
Ron

Might sound unconventional but my pet load is 23grains of N130 with a 40gr Blitzking, been shooting better groups with this combo lately than with my ppc.
btw: my rifle is also a 40x

I've won a lot of UBR matches with 24.5 grs of I4895 & 21.0gr of Rel 7. Both with a coated 53gr FB Hillbilly Bullet. Primer doesn't seem to matter as I've used several different ones. The 4895 load has to be dropped slowly and will be compressed. The Rel 7 works just as well and is easier to load.

Rick,
In other cartridges, I've used IMR 8208 XBR, any lot but the first, where I formerly used 4895. Try it. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Try 20.8 grns of H322 with any good 52 grn bullet and 205m primers.. I also have a 40xbr and a model 700 Rem and both shoot fine with that load. Alan.

40x 222

19.5 IMR 4198 and 53 gr or 53 gr sierra MK. Fed match primer, lapua brass. Settle in for a long winter nap...it is consistently boringly accurate and fun...

have several 40XBR and all shoot with this load.
