Pact Chrono missing shots

I'm having problems with my chrono not "catching" shots. Screens are placed 12 feet from muzzle, set up in shade, but not really dark. It will miss 2 or 3 out of a 5 shot string. I've tried it with and without the diffusers, same problem.
Do you have any tips to help with the problem??
Thanks,

chrono help

Melvin i guess you have the unit with cables going back to the control box on your bench? If so couple of things i do,and i've been using one 10 years or so,seperate your cables so they don't swing together from the screens to the ground, keep your control unit back away from muzzle blast, and if the sun is coming in at an angle they will give trouble,my best luck is on a cloudy day.I went by a window tinting shop and got a strip of light tint,on bright or sun at an angle days, tape a strip over each eye,not the tape just the tint strip. On a bright overhead sun i get about 300 ft. fast reading if i don't use the tint strip.

Thanks, Terry,
I will try that. Yes, mine is the one with the control box separate. I do try to keep it away from muzzle blast. I will try separating the cables, also.
Thanks much!

Chronographs

The devices are subject to false readings and or no readings. It has been my experence that the angle of the sun, shade, partly shady etc have some effects.

I would try setting up at 15 feet in full sun light, besides applying other comments.

I bought an Oehler just before they stopped making them. If I follow my own suggestions I have no problems.
