optimum barrel length for a 6.5x47L??

I am doing a build for our varmint shoot we have local and i would like to know what you fellas think is the best barrel length for a 6.5x47L? I just got a good deal on a BAT SV barreled action and my barrel is 26.5" long. will this be about right for a 500-600 yard rifle? It seems like most fellas are going with at least 28" or 30". I kinda hoped the 26.5" barre would be a good balance between rigidity and optimum speed for the 130gr 6.5mm bullets? Any thoughts on this? Thanks fellas! Lee
