Guys looking for opinions and thoughts about the Lucas Rod Guide! Thinking of ordering one for my Cooper 52 in 30-06 instead of a Sinclair. Looking to hear pros and cons. Your input would be much appreciated!

I bought one about two months ago for my 6.5x284. No complaints , works well. Good seal and keeps rod centered. It fit my gun's chamber perfectly .

I have 4, 1 each for my various rifles. Mike is a stand up guy and his gear is top notch.

Great guy AND makes the best product that exists for that application IMHO!!:)

Lucas and Neil Jones.....

are the only two bore guides that keep the rod centered it the bore, and of course they both keep the solvent out of the action, etc.

If you don't use a Lucas or Neil Jones rod guide, you need to order them ASAP! They will never wear out!

Mike makes one of the best bore guides period.

He sends you the bore guide you order to look it over and make sure you like it. Then you can pay him or send it back. You won't send it back believe me.

Lucas Bore Guide

I just ordered one for my BAT SV action in 20BR.
Talked to him and he said that it would be in the next batch, and shipped sometime around 9/1/08.
Can hardly wait!

Bore Guides

The very best bore guide made is the TK Nolan Barrel Saver. But I am not sure if he makes it for all Rifles.

Of course, a real close second is the Lucas. But be warned, use it only with the slip in rod support that comes with it. I have seen shooters at Matches using a Lucas without the slip in rod support. That is not using it as intended, and will not support the rod properly........jackie

Do they have a website or can you provide the contact info. I tried to Google it with no success.

I appreciate your time and all the info you share on this forum.

Randy,

PM me and I'll get you a phone #.

Like jackie said, you will want an insert for every cal. rod you have .20 , .22 &/or .27.

Also, some of the same guides will work for various cals. like .270 & 30-06.

Anyway, he will set you straight. I prefer the ones w/out the solvent port, but to each his own.
