Norma 203B

I have been shooting some Norma 203B in a 6BR all weekend and i must say i think it is pretty darn good stuff. Here is the problem though. I had to look high and low for a pound of this Stuff, and now that i know it shoots well, i dont know how i will find any more. What would be an equivalent powder to the Norma 203B? Anyone else shoot this powder much?
I had some trouble getting any speed out of my current lot of varget with the 105 Berger. 30.7gr of varget only yielded me 2740fps. 30.5gr of norma 203B gave me 2850 and better accuracy. I like to tune my 6BR barrels to 2840 to 2860. I find that they shoot best for me somewhere in this velocity range. Extreme spread was also less with the norma powder. It seems to me someone told me once that Norma 203B is temp sensitive? temp this morning at 530am was 85 and humid as all get out!
I guess ill just have to do some digging and see if i cant come up with some more. I am still a little surprised that 30.7gr of varget wouldn't even get me to 2800?? Lee

I have been told that 203 b is exactly r-15 hopefully Lee will try it and give us some feedback, he should be able to tell with his chronograph pretty accurately.Let us know Lee. While on this subject is there any accurate info that people experience that r-15 is very temperature sensitive? Or should I say a hot degree high humidity day type of powder.

I will try some re15 and i also hear that there is a military pull down equivalent to RE15 that Hi tech is selling. It is also very affordable. Something like 89 bucks for 8LB. thats cheep!
Here is something else some of you might find interesting. While ;looking over today's notes i noticed that while using varget with federal 205 match primers my average velocity was 25fps faster than the exact same load using CCI 450 primers. I would have thought it to be the other way around?? Lee

Grafs is the source for the Norma powders that I use.

I use the 203B in my 25 BR w 88 gr BIBs bullets. I also use VV N-135. The N-135 is just a little faster. Reloader 15 is about the same burn rate but I seem to get better groups with the N-135 or N203B powder.

My local guy has a few pounds so i will pick it up this weekend. man is that stuff expensive! I will for sure try RE15. Lot less cash!! Heck better yet is that military pull down RE15 equivalent that Hi tech is selling. Maybe that will be the way to go?? The barrel seems to like 203B so i think i should listen to it! Lee
