Hello: Can any one tell me the best product to use on blued guns to prevent rust when stored for a long a long time. Is the one for the out side the same as the one for the bore? Thanks Jerry

I have had good luck with G 96 Gun Treatment. I have used it since it was G 66 in 1968, I don't know why they changed the name. As long as you don't touch the metal after wiping it down it will stay, unlike some products that evaporate.

A few years ago I did a test with serveral oils. The test involved coating 5 short rods and putting them outside from January 1st to the end of April. The primary purpose of this test, to be honest, was to check out our barrel sleeves. I also put different oil coated rods inside our sleeves and put them out at the same time and for the same lenght of time. The short rods were what I had cut off the long ones that I put in the sleeves. The one product that stood above the rest, by a long shot, was EEZOX Premium gun care. In fact the rods that were coated with this product and left in our sleeves through freezing, snow, rain, hot, we are talking Canada here, did not have any rust at all outside of where I had touched it putting into the sleeve. Just answering your question.
