Hi folks,

I would like some facts on a new 22 caliber round.

I have a Panda that has a shot out 6mmPPC barrel. Going to have Kelby's chamber a new barrel for that.

Thinking of 22 PPC as well as it uses the same bolt face.

My choices so far are: 22 PPC, 22 BR or the 220 Beggs or 22-250.

What are the real pros n cons on these calibers?

I will be be target shooting and live varmit shooting predominantly. I have not shot in competition but will be a goal over the next few years.

Looking for good barrel life as well as case life.

I have a 222 Rem in a Nesika J that shoots very accurate. Most accurate rifle I have ever shoot at 100 yards. Don't really want to disturb that rifle. I have a .223 in A ruger MKll shoots well for a factory gun. I also have a custom standard 243 on a mod 70 that shoots very well and a 243AI in a 700 Remington that shoots very good.

Just thinking that a 22 PPC would turn the Panda into a good shooting switch barrel gun, or not advisable?

Do a straight 220 Russian. Little or no case prep. I think perhaps the 220 Beggs is similar thing. I used to own a couple .22 PPc's great varmint round a little too big for a BR round. Actually as I reread your post a 22-PPC may be just your ticket. Forget the 22-250 unless your primary thing is Long Range varminting.

Thanks guys...the bolt face on the Panda is .450" and the Nesika is .392"
