I inherited a beautiful bench rest rifle in 6mm Remington that has a Hart barrel with a 1 in 12 twist. The rifle has only had 12 rounds threw it and they were factory rounds. I truly need help getting some load advice on this barrel twist since Remington changed the twist rate years ago to a 1 in 9 twist. I would love to shoot this rifle from reloads and not factory ammo, but I have no clue where to start. Everything I find are great loads for the 1 in 9 twist and nothing on the 1 in 12.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

6mm Rem load

My .244 Rem , Douglas #5,24",!-12 twist, FN single shot, circa '64 records show:
85 gr.,Sierra HPBT loaded with 46 gr. IMR4350
" " " " 48 gr. 4831 (H surplus)
100 gr.Nosler Partition Spitzer with 44 gr. 4831 (H surplus)

These loads should be considered MAX. Start at 7-10% less charge.

Nice cartridge! Enjoy!

... takes me back ...

I had good luck with the 75 grain Sierra Hollowpoint in a one in twelve twist Douglas, back in the day.
The same barrel does better with the same bullets I use in the ppc - various Euber and Berger options.
