I will be shooting a 200 yd. match next month. Can anybody give me a 100yd. to 200yd comeup for the 22 LR? Im shooting Eley Match if it matters. Thank you in advance.

From a 50 yard zero, come up 7.5 moa for 100, and from 100 come up 20 moa for 200.

You are going to need an angled base or Burris Signature rings with the offset insert kit. .020" higher at the rear should work good.

I have been shooting in this match for the last two months: http://www.cherokeegunclub.org/HTML53.phtml

I have the numbers for 1/8" clicks if it will help you out.

Zeroed at chickens, 75 meters

Come up 49 for pigs at 112

Come up 44 for turkeys at 144

Come up 80 for rams at 189

A Question

Our Club ( http://www.bentongunclub.org ) shoots a 200 yard RF match each month using the NRA 200 ayrd RF target (A-21). We are getting 4" or so groups with a lot of vertical. We need to get better.

What kind of groups are you guys getting?

What equipment is winning?

What ammo seems to ge tthe best results?

I've messed around with rimfires at 300 yds. It takes 40 moa to get from 100 to 300. Burris Signature rings make a 40 moa adjustment less inconvenient. You can use twenty minute offset inserts at one end and rotate them 180 degrees to change from basic 100 yd to basic 300 yd starting points for zero.

Not surprisingly, extreme velocity spread is a very good predictor of vertical spread at very long range with a rimfire also. Chronographing ammo will give you a huge head start on what works and what doesn't. It probably isn't too helpful to tell you that the best results I got measured by velocity variation and target size was with Federal UM1. Extreme velocity spread over ten shots averaged 7 fps. The usual suspects (Eley,Lapua etc match) was more like 12-15 fps extreme spread and it showed on target.

In good conditions there was still more vertical in the groups. That ammo was (is) just barely trans-sonic above 60 degrees F but at fifty degrees or so the muzzle crack would go away and the groups at 300 could be astonishingly small.

20 moa worked great. A friend made up a combination scope/iron sight mount for me. He put in a 20 MOA taper so I had a bunch of room for the adjustment.
I did get a bunch of vertical in the group. It is very windy here today. Not the best day to shoot but not bad. Thanks again for all the help.

The first ERS match I shot in was in July and I fired 2 clean rounds and there were 9 cleans total. The winds were very light.

At the August match the wind was just a LITTLE BIT more active and there were only 3 cleans so it doesn't take much wind to really affect the scores. With my 22LR I ended up leaving 3 rams standing. When I got to the tie breakers at the end of the ram line I knocked down the first 3 with no problem. I thought if I knock down all 6 of these little targets after leaving 3 of the big ole rams I am going to be  I couldn't connect on any of the chickens :p

With my 22 mag I missed one ram which was probably a defective low powered cartridge. I did have one FTE but I am not sure it happened on that target. One missed ram and no tiebreakers [ ran out of time ] equals 5th place.
