Pete White won the 600 yard nationals.

Jay Cutright finished 3rd

Kurt Mendenhall and Bruce Bangeman finished 4th and 5th but I might have them out of order.

New shooter Edlongrange at his first match ever only shot heavygun and finished in 12th place for score.

1000 yards begins saturday and light rain is expected both saturday and sunday.Lou Murdica said the match would carry over onto monday if we get rain. That didn't sit well with some of the pacific northwest shooters but its in the rulebook and this year the rulese are being followed.Benches were drawn correctly and things ran much better this year so far.The vice president didn't make the match and the only screaming was over the wind.

Just to add a personal note:
I have always thought finishing 2nd sucks, but when you finish 2nd to a true gentleman and fine competitor like Pete White it almost makes it OK. Congratulations again Pete!

PS: Al: I have no idea why the 2nd place finisher (me) was left off Kay's post. Probably just an oversight on his part.
and the latest for the 1000 yards this weekend is no rain! We can only hope.

Congrats again to all the winners!!

Thanks for your comments Roger.
Kenny is definitely a piece of work! I just hope I am breathing when I am his age, let alone shooting well and volunteering his help when ever needed. Some people make a lot of noise, and others work quietly to better the sport by doing what is needed. Hope to see you again out on the Left coast soon. Maybe next year we can schedule the match for a non holiday weekend, for those people who don't have there priorities straight!
Regards,
Greg

Thanks for the results so far !!!!!!!

And CONGRATULATION's to ALL !!!!!!!!

Good Luck this week-end..........

Happy Shooting

I guess 2nd does suck a bit, but 6th is one place out of the prizes. Which is what happened to me in the overall at the Pella Iowa IBS 1K Nationals in 2005. But you know, as the years pass, it feels better. After all, there were 120 or so people who didn't fare that well.

So good work on that second, and thanks for letting us know the results. How many shooters were there?

Just when I think I have it figured out.....
National 2 Gun Champion: Pete White with 17 points
2nd: Greg Wilson 24 points
3rd: Gary Gagliono 27 points
4th: Ken Schroeder 33 points
5th: Jay Cutright 34 points (tiebreaker- higher finish in 12 tgt grp)
6th: Robert Hoppe: 34 points
7th: Lou Murdica: 38 points
8th: Connie Murdica 40 points
9th: Bruce Bangeman 41 points
10th: John Crawford 44 points

So as I see it the less points the higher the place?
Someone educate me please.

The points are your ranking in each category of Light Gun and Heavy Gun, and within each, Group and Score.

So if you were first in each category, your oversall "score" would be "4."

If you were first in LG score, 5th in LG group, 10th in HG score, and 3rd in HG group, that would be 1 + 5 + 10 + 3, or 19. The lower the number, the better you did. Our way of comparing apples (group) and oranges (score).

Hope that's clear.

ok whats going on ???
sundays gome and gone...no data on sat or sunday

Thanks Joe and Thanks to everyone else for all the e-mails and PM's.
I have won a lot with that ole heavy gun. I commissioned Bill Shehane to build that rifle for me back before I had any machinery of my own. Leonard Baity chambered the original barreled action in 6.5-284 Shehane, that earned me my first top 20 patch in 2006.
That rifle has shot well in every match I have shot in since then with every long range benchrest caliber I have chambered it in from a 6 BR to a big 7mm Wildcat I made up several years ago.
I might have to chamber a 30 caliber sometime soon just to see what that ole Tracker will do for me next time I shoot a big match.
Take it easy...Jay Cutright
