My load test target attached as a PDF
I have some practice targets that are the usual six 100 yd. benchrest record targets on a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock. When I am making initial scope adjustments I usually place the cross hairs in the horizontal and vertical gaps between each of the targets on the sheet. One day It occurred to me that lining up this way was easier than using a standard target, so I used word to make up a test target that is decidedly unconventional, but which probably has more than enough aiming points of various types, for any load testing session. I should add that before I staple a target to a backer, I use a torpedo level and ball point pin to make a level line on the backer to align the target to. Obviously this is done after the frame is put into whatever holds it upright. Before any of the persnickety among you point that it is really a target of rectangles, I am aware of that. I laid it out by hand using my mouse, and did not quite hit the mark for perfect squares, but I do not think that this detracts from its functionality. Feel free to post any targets that you have made on this thread. This one was made specifically for my 36X scope to be used at 100yd. About the only thing that I need to do is to have some made up on card stock so that the bullet holes will hold together better for measuring.
