We are now on the schedule for the 1st NBRSA Texas State 1000yd Championship on Oct. 13th and 14th. We will shoot both light and heavy gun per NBRSA 1000yd rules. The match will be held at the Emert Ranch Range. The range is on FM 2034 twelve miles east of Water Valley. This range is near San Angelo, Texas. The match will be held on Thursday and Friday. Make your plans now to compete in the first NBRSA registered 1000 yard match to be held in Texas.

This range is a very nice private range with 10 covered benches and shoots almost due north. It does not have pits.

More info to come.

Ok Ok, so I don't know where San Angelo is but coming in from the north once I hit the Texas line I should be within what, an hour or so?? Which way do I turn?

;)

(I'm just remembering as a kid..... we traveled in cars and trucks as a family..... I'm about 6-7yrs old and I've been looking at the same horizon all morning and into the afternoon and my Dad's singing "the sun 'as riz an' the sun 'as set, an' here we are in Texas yet!")

whewww.....

Al, when you hit the Texas line keep going for about another half day then ask around. You should be close enough to get some directions.

Al,
Once you hit the Texas border at Texline you should be about 428 miles north of Angelo. This state is about 834 miles wide by 890 miles tall. I think they should turn Texas into about 5 states, that way when you cross a "state line" you appear to be making some progress. :) We are about 402 miles from El Paso, 407 miles from Galveston, 363 miles to Houston, 444 miles from McAllen, 430 miles from Texarkana, and 495 miles from South Padre Island. So we're pretty much centrally located in the center of the state :).

Best,

Dan isn't it Eden, Texas; about 30 or 40 miles east of San Angelo that advertises itself as the center of Texas? As if 30 or 40 miles made a difference in Texas.
It's only about 175 miles from Utopia to San Angelo. That makes us practically next door neighbors. Lots of folks will drive that far for a good plate of BBQ.

Great

I am building a gun just for this and will be there and hit as many of the Texas longrange benchrest comps as I can. Can't wait and am excited but gotta get some distance practice in after the build. Tracker stock, P1000 Stiller action, Bartlien Barrel, 6.5x284, Jewel trigger, 10x50 Sightron scope, and hopefully I will not make a fool of myself.

Johnson I hope you don’t either, I have made several shoots and reserve that task for myself. Lots of fun, good food, and great people.

For those who do not know, after we shoot 1000yd LG and HG on Thur. and Friday, we will be shooting the 3rd and final leg of the 400yd Texas Clay Shoot Series on Sat. The 1st leg of this series in in Utopia at the Duke's and the 2nd leg is in Huntsville at the Cockcrofts. You don't have to be shooting the series to shoot on Sat. Anyone who enters can shoot. This is a fun shoot where you have seven shots to break 6 clays and then shoot a 3 shot group for group measurement. We shoot 4 rounds of this. Make your plans for Oct. 13th,14th,and 15th.

Hey Tad and Joe,give me a shout when you guys start in on the donations for prizes ,I will help all I can. Tim in Tx
