moly AND Damzac

Short of an FBI analysis, is there any way for us commoners to distinguish which coating a bullet has on it? Awhile back, I switched from using moly to Danzac. The problem is: I now have some coated boxes (22's and 30's) but I can't remember which I used on them. AND DID NOT LABEL THEM!

Part two of the question I guess is: If there is no reliable way to tell, and if indeed they ARE coated with moly, what would be the effect of shooting them in a DANZAC coated 30BR barrel?

Only thing i remember is that the WS2 is easier to remove especially from your fingers. If you waxed em then theres just more complication. I just looked at some my son had molied and some factory Hornady moly and the WS Id done and the Ws is much "bluer" and heavier, the moly seemed more silver. Hope this is useful/

Hey little snake, the 22's won't do worth a damn in that 30, other than that I don't think you would ever know the difference. :) Have a good day, Steve

Thanks for the help guys. None of the bullets were waxed. but all have a very deep greyish color and are VERY slick and shiny; almost like the paint job on a well-done street rod. I don't think moly is as durable, so I carried two around in my jeans pocket(not the same pair) for 5 days. Just then did the bullet color begin to show through. I am thinking, based on that, the are probably Danzac coated. The 30's are custom bullets, SO I WANT TO SHOOT'EM! But.......just to be safe, is there an easy way to soak the coating off? I am a little hesitant to "grind" it off in a vibrator. Lesson is learned on "keeping up wid yo stuff"!!

Steve. you got a patent on them "snow bullets" yet?:)

Simple green soak

and rinse has removed Moly for me. Seems like I also had success with wally world degreaser for power washers as a soak and rinse. Max

Little snake, I'm having a few technical issues with the snow bullets, when I light a fire under them they melt. :) Steve
