filler

I haven't seen there video but I'm guessing it is some kind of polyurethane expanding foam; maybe even with glass fibers in it. I played with some foams when building some carbon fiber pieces for a light gun. Some of the foam really gets hard. I used an 8lb density and it is as hard as pine. I believe there is also a 16lb. density that is harder. Matt

Go to the McMillan website and click on the FAQs. It describes the fill of the different stocks. I would use a dust mask at least to sand or machine it.

The hard white filler in our benchrest stocks is basically epoxy resin, catalyst, micro-ballons ( microscopic hollow glass balls) and some chopped fiberglass strands in the action area. Basically just epoxy resin and silica.
