long or short action, 6.5x284

thinking about haveing one built, didnt know what would be a better choice, long or short action 6.5x284. thanks lee
 
The answer depends completely on how much you enjoy removing your bolt to extract loaded rounds.
 
Good logic. But I would like to add that I cannot eject a loaded 6mmAI from my Remington SA if loaded to kiss the lands with 105 gr Lapuas. The smith made my throat a wee bit longer than I'd like. Something to consider with a 6.5-284, too as OAL with 140s is a bit longer than the 6mmAI. So consider if you'll have to eject a loaded round or not. I built my 6.5-284 on a long action as a repeater and have no issues.
 
I built mine on a Savage 112 long action. I did not want to have an issue with jamming bullets.
 
Mauser action

I have a mauser action taken off a k98 could that be used to build a LA rifle able to compete in F class. According to the smith that removed it the action is one of the better ones. Thanks Gus
