lone star/big shot tumbler?

Has anyone used a lonestar now big shot tumbler? Do you think it would work for bullet making? I can get one for a good price. I was thinking for lubing cores or jackets i could put a large mason jar and a towel for padding.

It would probably work fine. But one thing to consider with the Lone Star - all of the weight is supported by the input shaft. That puts strain on the motor. Brass cases are plenty light, but 1,000 .30 caliber cores weighs a fair amount. Then again, I assume folks tumble rocks in those things, so it's likely built to last.

I use the Thumler AR-12. Solid tumbler for about $200.

I thought of that but i researched the lone star and the shaft goes through a bug bearing then through a all metal gearbox then into another large bearing and is rated for 40 + pounds. I can get it for half what a thumlers go for.

I think ill give it a try. I can also make a bracket to hold a different type of tub.

any tumbler wil work if you use zip lock bag core seat lightly then smear light amt. Of lanolan and neatfoots oilon inside of zip lock with 500 jackets for 20 min i do use another zip lock over that for caution.

i for got i heat inside of zip lock bag couple min. With hair dryer, works like charm.
