Left the Range

It is with deep regrets that I wish to report the passing of Larry Fatheree on 12/31/13 in the afternoon. Big Larry was the Match Director at the Tremont Gun Club for several years until his health problems forced the cancelations of the IR 50/50 matches in 2013. Larry shot all over the country and has been known by many shooters and will be greatly missed by his many friends.

It saddens me to learn of Larry's demise. I first met Larry at the 1998 IR 50/50 Nationals at Kay C. Young's range in Mechanicsville Virginia. He was the first shooter I had ever seen who would line up his shot, then lift his head in order to wait for the condition to meet his expectations, a practice I have use ever since after watching him and seeing how successful he was when doing so. I have found that by doing so it allows me to better focus on my wind flags. He was a good friend and one that will be greatly missed by so many.

Larry my friend, you and your family will be in my prayers.

A Great Loss

Larry was one of those guys that you naturally like and never forget. I, like others, had the pleasure of shooting with him many times before his health deteriorated. He will be sorely missed by those who crossed paths with him. A great loss. God Bless.

I'm very sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I remember him well at IR50/50 Nationals. In addition to being a great shooter he was also a fine gentleman.
