Poor Larry,

He was sitting on a .14 agg until he shot a group on Darrel Loker's target. He had finished a good group and was grinning like a possum in peanut butter until Darrel went to the record target and saw a group there. He turned to Larry and asked, "Did you shoot your group on my target?" Larry replied "Yeah, right" Larry looked down there and all I will say is that I am glad that Larry has a Loker tuner on his rifle. The bbl just won't go into the dirt very far:) Really, he took it good stride. It was a fun time in KS City.
Larry, your a great shooter, but you can't spot us 5 inches and expect to win:)

I think they named a car after Larry, The Pontiac "Crossfire"

Ouch, that hurts.

Been there, done that, did not get a T-shirt.

How about some agonizing cross fire stories. I pulled that stunt about five years ago at a Registered Match at Tomball. I was winning the 100 on a Sunday Afternoon, on my way for the Two Gun, shooting on Bench 5. I was sitting on about a .180 agg, and in match five, I caught my condition and laid down a nice .160. I was sitting there feeling real good, when Gene Bukys, who was sitting at Bench 3, ask me if I was finished. I said sure, and then he said, "you have no holes in your target".

Well, it so happens, the shooter on Bench 4 had gone home, and I had lined up on that target. Nobody was there to scream "crossfire" as I worked the sighter. Now, for some reason, I never noticed that "4" instead of a "5" on the target. But after Gene said what he said, and I looked again, that "4" looked six feet tall, and framed in neon.

Larry, you have my sympathy..........jackie

Those that have, and those that will. I did it at the nationals. No need to mess around with those small matches. Do it up right. Do it at a big match. Richard, didn't you put a hext on Larry at the last KC match? Just wondering if that VooDoo you have is time release and it took a month to work.

About 15 years ago or more I was at Fairfield OH, at the regionals and got to the second last match of the weekend, I had the 3 Gun all wrap up. Just before the commence fire, the condition that I was shooting came in. You know how you get, come on range officier, hurry up a call it. Well he did, I shot a sighter, went exactly where it should of, and I hammered the next five down as fast as I could feed them, a low .4 I am sitting back thinking to myself about how good life is, etc. Somebody called crossfire, he was an older gentleman and when it was all cleared up, he felt so sorry that he had not caught the crossfire in time. He said that he loaded his round, saw that someone, "ME" had shot one on his sighter and by the time he looked at his record target, I was finished. It took me about an hour to convince him that it was not his fault. AHH, life can be so good at times, other times you are the statue.

Rex, I finally got home today. You know Larry was shooting on the same bench as last month. After the match I looked under the bench and that old chicken's head was still there. A little worse for wear but fully functional. :) I tried to get Larry to shoot 133, I offered him bullets, I don't know what I will try next, but it will be fun.
