Kelbly TG ejector and BR cases

Anyone using a TG ejector and micro port with the BR cases?

Having some ejection issues and wondering if anyone has any tips.

You will find, if you haven't already the TG feature is totally operator dependent. i.e. you must work the ejection stroke at a constant speed to get consistent results. Good and bad.
Good in the fact that you control the distance the case is ejected, bad in that you must submit some of your concentration to the ejection stroke to get the cases to land in the same place.

Now that I know the TG ejector is the ststic system, I would suggest to you that you get yourself a plastic basket (small) and a couple pieces of cardboard and make yourself a catch basket. The pieces of cardboard or sheet plastic, what ever, are to make bankboards to catch the empties as you eject them. Make them tall enough and no matter how energetic you get in your bolt action, the case should not end up on the floor but in the basket. Wally World has the baskets in housewares, usually for drawer organizing, usually 3 for $1.00. Put all of this on a small towel under/beside the ejection port and the chances of a concrete damaged case get real slim.

Actually I was wondering if anyone has this in a BR case, with a PPC case there is no problem, I can eject the case reliably and consistently all day long.

My problems come with the BR case in inconsistent ejection and marred cases, maybe a 40% success rate. Was hoping someone else out there uses the TG with BR cases and knew a trick or two about getting them to run.

I am using the Kelbly TG ejector in an Atlas action chambered for 6BR. It has worked absolutely flawlessly for 2 years now. No instances of case marring or any other issues. After my success with this setup a fellow shooter at my club also built a 6BR with the Atlas and he hasn't had any problems either. Maybe a phone call to Kelbly would solve this.

I'm going through the same problem, with the Dasher the case hits the action and goes off the front of the bench. If you work it easy it drops off in the action, a little harder and it turns it backwards. I tried a new bolt with a plunger and so far it doesn't work at all..........jim

Mine is hitting the action right at the point of the top of the recess cut for the lug, when it was a sharp point it would leave a nice sized nick in the case, I smoothed it down a tad with a file and it leaves a mar now.

Seems like it always his there and when it ejects it'll spin out most of the time it'll just rest halfway in the port. PPC cases can fly out of it with no contact. I'm thinking the extractor may be hitting too much of the BR case sending it more forward than sideways, makes sense to me since the PPC case angles out nicely. Going to send it back to Kelblys after a match this weekend, maybe they can open up the ejection port some to accommodate the angle of ejection or somehow change where the ejector hits the rim to make the case mouth move more towards the right on ejection.

My experiences mirror Andy's. I've only run about 140 BR cases through my action, but there were absolutely no problems. I've has a couple glitches with ppc cases but each one was a result of me being to slow on the bolt pull back.

I was told they work better with longer cases. The only cases they have problems with are PPC. and BR family. Pull it slowly back and see how far back it is when it starts to eject, it has to hit the rear of the port with only a little of the case outside of the action........ jim

Hmm, I may have to take mine apart tonight and see if there is anyway of shortening the striker on the action w/o permanently modifying it, thinking it may be striking it too soon now which could be forcing it too far forward.

thanks, mine is a grizzly, sending it back to them, if they can't get it to work it's going in the bottom of the river.

i also have a LBRPLE TG and have had no issues!! it works great using br or ppc cases

I have Kelbly actions with M1 and static ejectors that will eject ppc-BR-06 cases(same action) with no problems.....there must be brass shavings/debris or sumthin stuk in the bolt face...chek it out..let us know what u find...Roger

Before it goes to the bottom,.....The port MAY be sized ONLY for a PPC case. there is enough size difference that if it is minimum PPC, a BR case WILL NOT pass smoothly and you WILL have ejection issues. Sorry I did not say that in my first post. My BAD. Get the boys in Ohio to re-size the port and I bet your issues go away.
