Would strongly urge you to call Bob Brackney who makes adjustable rings. Superior, imo, to the old Jewell Foster design. I've had them and now have Brackney. He takes your scope, freezes it, puts it in rings for 550 or so. Not cheap, but effective. --Greg

Where is Bob Brackney? Do you have his number?
 
Thanks to the generosity of a friend, I had an the use of one of these setups for long enough to become very familiar with it. At first I was skeptical of the sensitivity of the adjustments, but since they are threaded twice as fine as a micrometer...80 TPI, as it turned out, for short range group shooting, sighting in was a real pleasure. I just bore sighted it close, fired a shot, and with the rifle held steady, smoothly dialed it over to the hole. It was slick. Although I have never shot score, if one wanted to have ones point of aim coincide exactly with ones point of impact, and any wind compensation was to be done by holding off, I can't think of a better system.
