Jackie received his new Kreiger U/L .308 barrel today in record time. He will chamber it up ASAP and take it with him to the "money match" at Seymour this weekend.

If he gets the barrel up to speed this Friday he will compete with it Saturday at 100 yards.

This should be a very interesting weekend to say the least. :D

More updates to follow.....

Has the 30BR unlimited format been tried before?

If so, how did they perform?

Yes, Wilbur(web-Master Harris) did one early-on . . . but, I believe he did all of his work using H-4227, prior to us "discovering" that H-4198 and N-130 deliverd the good without case-wrecking pressures.:D RG

Allie Euber shot an unlimited 30BR barrel at the IBS nats last year at Kelbly's. It didn't perform as well as he would have liked. One match and one barrel really isn't saying much though. He did say that there was a very noticeable difference in how the rail acted upon recoil as opposed to shooting a ppc.

Just Finished

I would like to thank Lester Bruno for getting Krieger to 'expedite' my barrel in just 4 weeks. A 1-17 30 caliber 1.450 Unlimited barrel was not something "sitting on the shelf".

I just finished chambering it up, I will arrive in Seymour early Friday, so that will give me plenty of time to break it in, and see what it will do. I will just stick the same 3000 fps load that shoots so well in my Sporter and HV with the BIB 112, and tune from there.

I have already had a "high recoil":D set up on my Rail, (I shot 105 grn 6mm bullets at 3000 fps out of a 1-8 twist). A 112 at 3000 should recoil exactly the same. I foresee no problems.

If I don't think it will be competitive, I have a excellent 6PPC Barrel that I broke in two week ends ago, so I can "crawfish" out. But heck, this is a good match to lay it all on the table, and see what I can do with this combo.

It's been a long time since I came in "dead last" at a match.:D But I promise that I will give it my best, and not sugar coat anything........jackie
