That looks interesting Al, are you using H4198? It looks like you can get about 36gr in there?

Hi Al, not to hijack your thread, but I understand from Randy that your work has some extended hours & inconsistent shifts. I'd like to give you a call some night this coming week. When would be OK?

OK. Back to the thread: it *might* work.

Years ago - -

Bill Truitt had one of these done with what I think is a Weatherby type shoulder. I still have a couple of the cases around somewhere. It is called a BAS BR. I had one of them and it worked fine. As I recall, I didn't gain a whole lot with it. It wouldn't shoot through any reversal I ever encountered :p.

I know what it is, however I do not know its intended purpose?

You Should Just save yourself a bunch of Grief and %$*tcan that whole project;):D

(Shot mine tonight two group avg was .057 @ 3220fps with 118-7Bib)

Not sure why anyone would want to build one of these?

One thing bad

about a barrel that shoots as well as the one you just reported on Steve is the urge to shoot it too much. A barrel like that one should never be fired except in competition, IMHO.

I've seen a number of em shot up too early because they shot so dern well. :)

Hi Charles. My shifts at the hospital are all day shift...it's the 'on call' duty that that can stretch an 8 hrs. work day to 16-18 hr. marathons. I'll be around every evening this week..looking forward to talking with 'ya. :) -Al

The case is a 'true' 30BRX.....the shoulder being .100 forward of the normal BR location. Steve Grosvenor has been running one out of the Stan Ware shop for a bit and I've been pretty impressed with it. It's got enough extra capacity to get up a velocity/accuracy node or two over the standard BR case, while still being pleasant to shoot in a 13.5 lb. VfS gun.

Thanks to Stan and Steve for doing the heavy lifting on this. I'm just riding along on their coat tails on this one............;) -Al

Steve,

if you have the correct combination, a 30 BR will shoot just as good or better with LESS.

No, Thank You Sir,

I Believe it was you Al, that said last spring, "Why don't you just do a true BrX?"

At that time I was foolishly thinking of a 30cal version of the 6mm Dasher and am glad that you steered me in this direction, the 40° shoulder would have been more work. Yours and Stans experience with the "Pup" also aided my decision.
So Thanks go to you, now if I could just learn how to READ FLAGS:rolleyes::D.

Pete, Thanks for the Tip, It sure is fun to shoot but keep close tabs on it and aside of some load development, its a Comp gun/barrel only.
