In The Hat a little History:
Around 1998 Milt & Helen Cook decided to award shooters who shot a 250.
They would write their name down & put them in a baseball cap for a drawing at the nationals. This worked ok for a few years but they eventually need a bigger Hat.
My first nationals was 2008 & if I remember right Wilbur brought a big box for the drawing (Forget a Hat) Can you imagine Wilbur writing 807 names on a piece of paper the week before & putting in a box? Yep I can because he cared!
By 2009 it went over 1000 & not sure who filled the box for that drawing?
Lets jump forward to 2011. Bill came up to me on Friday before the Nationals & said he had to go back to the Hotel & spend the night filling a Big Box with names for the drawing. Since I had the Results for the year I told him to go to the hotel & have a good nights sleep & I would work on it.
Thus the advent of the Computer Drawing of ‘In The Hat’
After 4 hours I had a working program with 236 shooters & 1300 250s
(Sorry Mel & Helen we do not have a big enough Hat)
In 2012 we had 231 Shooters with 1400 250’s
In 2013 there are 260 Shooters with 1840 250’s
Now You Know the Rest of the Story. ~
