Guys,

I have been out of the loop for a bit and getting back into shooting. I have read a lot of good things about the new IMR8208. I can't seem to find any load data for the 22BR using 40 & 52 gr bullets or the .222 using 52 gr match bullets.

Anyone worked up any good loads in the calibers using 8208?

Thanks,

Chris

my 22BRAI load

I've used 33.5g of IMR 8208 with the new high BC 53g VMax in a 22BRAI as my live groundhog load this past summer in a custom Savage that has a Howa barrel. That's close to a max load for this gun. It is less than a grain away from a sticky bolt. My 22BR improved cases run around a grain more powder than my regular 22BR with bigger bullets in target guns. Like 75VLD-82gBTs. So you'll want to back down more than a couple of grains at least to start off. You're almost sure to like it. IMR 8208, Alliant 2000MR, and Varget are all I test anymore for any kind of hunting loads in 22BRs, 308, 35 Whelen, and 338 Federal.
