Immediate Opening

There is an opening available for Harrison Sportsman’s Club Benchrest Match Director. I contacted Guy Silva, President, to inform him I am no longer interested in conducting the matches there. The hours aren’t bad but the pay sucks. Contact Guy at Harrison Sportsman’s Club 989-539-1825

Thank you!

On behalf of everyone who has ever shot any match, in any discipline, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and all too often thankless efforts!

I think everyone who participates in a discipline should be a match director at some time. Most shooting sports are run, maintained, and sustained by volunteers. There's a lot of work involved that cuts into time that could otherwise be spent making money, spending time with the family, pursuing other hobbies, or just getting ready for the match.

I've never shot at Harrison Sportsman's Club, nor even shot Benchrest yet, but you have my gratitude for the time you've spent sustaining the sport, that I might one day participate.

At the last couple matches last year I hinted and then proclaimed I no longer care to run the matches there. Not one hand was raised and no one said they’d step up. I just don’t see a continuation there. I took the helm for Dick Wright for a couple years and then he returned before I did another two year term. I’ve always tried to play the game by the rules. We have the safety orientation and sight in and then the seven minute match on recordings, etc, etc. We always drew for benches and accommodated those who shared equipment and flags.

Job Opening

Francis, Jeff has been spending a lot of time at the neighborhood Pub, playing darts to.help pay his bar tab. He needs the money.

You might try reaching out to him.

I don’t think he’ll take the JOB. He’s too busy shooting three different rifles in the three different classes. He’s already the proverbial monkey and the football.

Guaranteed , with all the leaders on this board, someone will come forward. But that's not really the way it works is it? The way it works in reality is almost everyone thinks they should be treated like they are eating at Longhorns, waited on hand and foot.
I remember one stellar individual who came to a match and loudly bitched, "why is there no hot coffee", I pointed him to the coffee pot and said put some on.
Sorry FB for the lack of appreciation you have received but it's at all the ranges, young men waiting on old men to do all the work.
You young men need to stand up and carry some of the load!!

Thank you for your service.
I once ran matches for seven years myself.
Our club has also lost several that were well attended in the past. Due to no one stepping up and then they all bitched and cried when they were no longer being held.

Thanks Again !!

Francis

I'd be glad to take over, but that would put me in a higher tax bracket.

I hope everyone there appreciated your hard work Francis, and that someone will step up to the plate.

Later
Dave
