The updated (10-12-2011) IBS 600 Yard "Shooter of the Year" points are listed on the IBS Websight. Click on NEWS and scroll down. For the first tme we have a junior shooter to score SOY points (Hunter Cain,NC). We also have some rookies that have scored well (Ryan Hunt,MO. and Eric Wilson,NC). We just about did not have a female shooter to score any points until the nationals a couple of weeks ago (Sheron Rabun). The top positions are pretty close with a few matches still left. It might get interesting! I am done for the season, so my points are not going to change except for adding points for 2 possible records shot this year. Note: There have been 3 possible records shot so far this year at 600. Rookie, Eric Wilson of NC shot the other record. Records count 6 points a piece after they are certified.

Thanks for posting the update.

Also for all the work you do in keeping track of these stats.

Congratulations on achieving the Silver level in the "Precision Marksman Rankings". A huge accomplishment considering all the top guns that call Piedmont their home range.

Richard,
Thanks Richard, that means alot coming for you! It was good to finally get to talk to you at the Nationals again. I was so glad to hear you are doing well after that health scare you had a few months ago! Keep in touch and see you next year! Samuel Hall

Sam, thank you for the training and patience you showed Hunter this year. He had a great time learning from from you and Larry. Now I gotta get hime a rifle of his own.

Andrew,
I enjoyed coaching Hunter and seeing him do well. That was actually more enjoyable than when I did well myself! As far as a rifle for him, I have been keeping my eyes open. Just have not seen anything yet. I would go with a Standard "No-Turn" 6BR It is much easier than an improved and definitely just as accuate at 600 yards.
For those keeping up with the points. The season is now over. The top spots did not change at he end of the season even though it was relatively close. The final points will not be listed until the records committee certifies the records sometime after the first of the year. I hope everyone enjoys the holidays! Samuel Hall
