it's 7 PM Wednesday local time and no one is here. I'm the only camper at the range, really! Never seen this at St Louis before???

Oh yes, there is plenty of folks here now. It was just so weird last night, only one camper on the whole St Louis range.

Jerry keep us posted on how things progress if you don`t mind. I`m really upset my plans didn`t work out for me to be there.

Same for me. I was ooking forward to this shoot as it would have been my first 600 yard match. I got Sick and landed in the hospital a couple weeks ago, and that ate all my vacation and sick time up at work, that i was going to use for the shoots in st louis this month. I am planning to attend the varmint for score match the weekend after next though. At least i hope to attend!! Lee

HI Jerry ...are you sure it was this weekend???? GRIN//.....Roger
Or was it LAST week Roger? I shot like it. (Sorry we didn't make it to the BBQ place-my grandsons team did win though)

Results for yesterday are being recalculated, especially group.

Hobie Bond won score, I think that stands though.

Wind, not at St Louis BR. Crossfires, not here.

There were 12 crossfires in one relay!! Too much snow??

Roger Amos did win one of the awards that stands as did Richard Schatz and Sam Hall among some that I can remember. Richard started with a 1.2 & 1.8 and a couple of 50's and we all went down hill from there. (Sorry you couldn't make it Donavan)

I DQ'ed on the 5th target. Four on the downwind edge and the 5th shot? Probably out in the weeds of the next county downwind!!

Great shoot so far!

Thanks St Louis BR and Jerry Kloeppel and team.

Good news and bad news for Saturday

The good news it that the relays are shooing in reverse. My relay 4 will start first, then 3, then 2...

The bad news is that the wind at 6:30AM is 8 mph SSW with gusts to 18 and it is raining!!!

I shot yesterday in the light gun with this being my second time only ever shooting at 600 - I had a blast! I only live about 4 hours from the club and with the Nationals being held there I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to gain some experience - and I most certainly know more now than I did. I was most impressed with how friendly and willing all the competitors were to share ideas on technique, equipment, loads etc. I was like a kid (61 year old kid) in a candy store just checking out all the equipment that was there. I felt kinda bad about my target 5 not having one shot on it until I observed several other targets with the same result - then I didn't feel quite so bad :) All in all a tremendous experience and looking forward to my next 600 yard match.

Jerry - very safe and well run match - my thanks to you, the target crew and all those involved in organizing the match.

PS: Additonal treat was having Ron Hoehn's shop just a few hundred yards from the club - of course I had to purchase a few items! He was extremely friendly and accommodating.

Now that I am where I can upload here are a few photos taken on Wednesday and Thursday. Used to attending varmint/UL/HB Nationals and see usually close to fourty or so RV's and the Super Shoot about 100, I was just suprised by this difference.

Windy was the norm.......I did good on Fri. (LG) but oooooo Sat was the day to remember....wind was gusty and switchy and 20 mph+ all day.....Richard Schatz showed us all how to shoot....he brought the traveling trophy with him and also took it bak to Bismark ,,grin.....I DQ'ed along with prolly 25 or 30 other shooters in the wind..grrrr....the first person to DQ was noted with interest ,,then after a dozen or so did it ,,it became ""Who next!!!!""....the match was ran perfectly by Jerry and the target crew was helpfull and FAST.....it was a real nock down and drag em out kinda match....had fun ...learned a lot about windy shooting......CONGRATS AGAIN TO RICHARD !!!........Roger

It was great time!
I DQed on target 8 in Light gun, The wind just kicked up something fierce duing that relay, there was a lot of people that DQed with me at that same time. There was 4 of us in a row that all hit our first target on the sighter period. I didn't shot as good of groups in heavy gun, but I did not DQ in it.
Congrats to Richard!!!!
Jerry should get a reconization he put on ONE HECK OF A MATCH!!!
