Howa 1500 H.B, .308 value

Hi All:

What woud a fair price be for this rifle?

It has a heavy stainless steel barrel, a laminated stock with holes in the forend and an older Bushenell scope.

How well do these rifles shoot?

What about the triggers? Are they adjustable? Are there any good aftermarket triggers available?

Are they accurate?

Has anybody ever had one and if so, what are your impressions?

They are asking $700.00 for the gun and scope.

Figure the scope is worth $50. Google "Howa rifles", and then start reading. If I were you, I'd offer them $500. They'll probably accept $600. There are far fewer options regarding triggers and stocks for a Howa then there are for a Rem 700. You won't know how the rifle shoots until you shoot it. Ask the shop if you can shoot it before you commit to buying it maybe. Me, I'd pass, but I like to keep things simple. Some people think Howas are a bargain. Good luck.

My Friend....

Many years ago bought a 270 Howa with a Redfield scope from Walmart for $170. Didn't care for the scope, but the rifle shot great...and still does. I recommend you take Bill's advise and offer $500.

Good luck,
Virg

$480 for the package. Keep in mind, rifles that shoot large groups get traded/sold. Ones shooting tiny groups are keepers.
