How to add someone to your ignore list and save our sanity

If you find that all you have to exchange with someone is insults, how about adding them to your ignore list. After they're on you list, you won't see what they write, so it won't bother you.

Now if you're really good at giving insults, maybe the rest of us could learn something. Hint: Rodney Dangerfield isn't good enough. Groucho Marks is

To add someone to you list:

1. Click on their name

2. click on "View profile"

when the new screen comes up,

3. click on "Add to ignore list"

I just tried it and you can't be added to my ignore list.Maybe you left something out?

Sorry Charles E is a moderator/admin and you are not allowed to ignore him or her.

This is the error message I keep gettiing.

As my old grandad use to say, "life's a B****; then you die."

Consider the burden I've imposed on myself. It's hard to be as witty as Groucho. I can't just say "Take Lynn. Please." Apparently moderator's are held to a higher standard.

For those who don't know, us "moderators" just woke up one morning and found Wilbur had done this. It happened after a week of bad spamming, a couple of which had links that contained worms. That part of the responsibility was clear. About the rest -- I emailed Wilbur and asked what I was suppose to do, and could I decline? His reply was typical Wilbur, "I trust your judgment mor'n mine,"

Look, it takes a number of things to be successful at benchrest. Desire. Skill. Knowledge. Equipment. Hard Work. Your list may vary. Of the things I've listed, only one is even possible to get off the internet.

Remember too, the "knowledge" isn't really knowledge, that too you have to get for yourself. Nobody's codified science enough to explicitly address benchrest. Different people are sure different things matter. That doesn't happen in science, or more accurately, when it does, it only points to something that needs more work.

So don't whine when someone doesn't drop everything to find out for you.

Guys come on to BR Central and want definative answers. They don't get them. Then they pick sides without any valid reason. They get mad at people who disagree.

Except for the rules, all anybody can give on shooting forums is hints. Use them if they help. A few are pure horse$hit. Most are way down on the *important* list, and only matter if you've done a bunch of other things. If you want knowledge, read Robert McCoy. Too much math? Too bad. Anything less is a shortcut.

At some point, you have to do your own work.

It looks like your higher standard is showing.

At some point, you have to do your own work.

Funny thing is you asked how Jim Hardy would do if he were to comeback to Benchrest in that other post.Jim responded telling You he thought You and 4Mesh were wrong and Lynn was right. You asked the question but when you got the answer you posted asking for people to put Lynn on the ignore list. You talk about being under a higher standard as a supermoderator yet you make a post singling out one poster who disagrees with your nonsense.
I am waiting for you to now ask that Jim Hardy be put on everybodies ignore list.
YOUR CLASS IS SHOWING.
Lynn
