Seb,

registration for a group or score 2 gun is going to range from $50-$100 per 2 day match here in the Mid-West.

The rest of your costs are going to depend on personal taste.

Seb,
plaques are approximately $13-19 a piece depending on where you get them and what sizes you get. Sporter 100/200, LV 100/200, HV 100/200 and Grand agg winners through 3rd place and more if you are running a national match gets up there in number quick. If you have a traveling trophy it will be more, and if you get a trophy cup even more.

Targets are, on average $0.25/target with shipping and handling.
Food is truly dependent on what you get. I can get a 6 foot sub for $75-80 and feed 20 people with it, get sodas and potato chips/snacks at a wholesale club for $30 or so, or spend $350 for a catered meal that feeds 30-40.
Target crew - $50/day/person or, if you are lucky, you can get them to volunteer...priceless!
Range fee - our club charges $5/shooter on top of whatever match fees are required unless the match is run by a member then it is free...your club may vary.
Scale, certified weights, scoring reticle(s), timer, air horn/buzzer, computer for keeping score, and other peripherals would hopefully be able to be loaned from another match director.
Mailings after the match $0.45 per stamp/attendee.
Don't forget lots of pens!!!

Hope this helps.
Mike

Registered match, under IBS or NBRSA.
Group match, or Score.
Centerfire.

Please restate your question. Are you asking about attending a match or Hosting a match?
Ted

We shoot IBS Varmint For Score matches once a month in Gallatin TN. The club doesn't want anything for hosting the matches. I provide lunch for the competitors included in the match fee of $30. We need 10 shooters to break even. The fixed costs are $4 per shooter to the IBS, $100 for the target crew and about $115 for the trophies. The rest goes for targets and food/drink.

I think what Seb is asking is what are the normal expense items involved, that a host club should expect.
I dont think he is talking about the dollar value but the items necessary. Remember Seb is in the Pacific rim area, Indonesia, and our estimates of cost and currency differences make our numbers irrelevant to him..

Items would include
moving backer system
Official targets
Fees paid to the governing body
sound system if applicable
Safety light system ( i think these are required but could be wrong)

I am sure some of the match directors and range owners can chime in and tell you other things that are "required by regulations"
most of the other things such as food is part of the hospitality. And having been to that part of the world there is GREAT hospitality given there to visitors. My wife is also from that area.

Seb correct me if I am and I will change or delete the post.

Vern, you're almost correct.

My question maybe supposed to be: how much money needed to host a match, in the States?

Now to be honest to you all,
I've been thinking "to host" (=support) a match in the USA, purpose is... In Memoriam to my ex Mentor, Ol Friend, and the late (+) US dealer for my products: Paul Schmid, OH.
That's all.
Too bad I couldn't make it to his last "resting place" last year, and I feel sorry/guilty, till now.
He was very special to me. I just would like to give him a special thing, to memorise, to express my thanks for the great relationship & great times we had in the past time. A match - with "In Memoriam" to him, came to my mind. (the match has to be good & fun, w/ many attendees & prizes, perhaps a registered match?)
That's the reason I ask the question.
I guess that I have to collaborate with a range owner / match director in the States.
First I would like to get info such as: could it be done??? (since I'm not an American & live far away in Pasific area)...what things are needed, to be prepared etc....also.

Thanks,
seb.

Hi Seb,
The St. Louis Club would be interested in hosting a "Paul Schmid Memorial" match every year. There could be "keeper" trophies, a wall plaque on the Club House wall like the "East-West" trophy, traveling trophy, etc.
We have a 60 bench range, and host IBS and NBRSA National Matches.
Please email our Club President, Scott Pieper, at "benchrest000@centurytel.net". Scott will be glad to work with you.
Thanks,
Ron

Ron sir, thank you so much for the response! It's a generous offer.
I thought the match "should be" in OH, but I will email Mr. Pieper about the possibility /details.
Best Regards,
seb.

The Chippawa Club ususlly holds a Warmup Match just before the Super Shoot. That club is in Ohio and might be what you are looking for?

Ron sir, an email is sent to Mr. Pieper.

PW & Kevin, Thanks!
Can you give me Chippewa contact info? I remember that Paul ever told me about a "warm up match" in Chippewa, last 2008.

Seb,

If you go to the IBS link on the home pge here under ranges, I believe you will find Chippewa listed there with contact information. I think Jack Neary frequents the club, he night be a good contact.
