In a 22 pound rifle, I doubt you hurt it.
The 36x Leupoldshave pretty rugged internals. I have had multitudes of them apart.
What can be affected by high recoil is the objective Lens and the gimble joint that the erector tube mounts on.
The objective lens is the heaviest thing in the scope, and is held tightly in the objective cartridge by two thin aluminum spanner nuts. It is a 48 Threads per inch. A lot of heavy recoil could literally extrude these a tad. That lens is pretty heavy.
The gimble joint that mounts the eyepiece end of the erector tube has a fairly wide spherical register. It is held snug by a nut that compresses the reticle cage against it through a flat wave spring.
If the objective lens is loose, it’s a simple matter of tightening the nuts. If the erector tube gimble joint is compromised, it’s time to send it back to leupold.
