Hood Wind Flags

Ok, I want to learn how to "Become one with the Wind" and want to pick up several of Charlie Hood's Dual Vane wind flags.

It appears that Mr. Hood is doing his best to enjoy retirement and his wind flags are no longer being made.

I would sure like to get at least 2, to begin learning how to shoot properly in the wind. Anyone know where some can be found or someone willing to part with a couple??

I am a greenhorn and have been advised that these are great flags for learning.

1/4 pivot, as I have some good stands, but alas, I am flagless..

Thanks for reading.

Sorry - can't help you on where to buy Hood's Flags (I shoot over them - and they are great) - However, Dave Halblom makes an awesome double vane flag - this would be a source in case you can't find any Hood's. He can be reached at 515-556-5833.

I am not Possitive about the flags, but just about everything else that Charlie used to make has been put on hold. He built an awesome core cutter and is busting his behind keeping up with orders for cores and doesn't have the time or ambition to do all the other products that he has brought to the scene. Some of his stuff he has allowed Scotty Crawford to make and sell, but I haven't seen flags on that list....

Another thought... If you were in fact able to find, lets say 2 Hood flags and you liked them... Where would you get more and would they match? They are good flags, but David Halblom makes really nice flags to, and he is making them, not too busy cutting cores.

Another thing is David always donates as does Charlie, when asked to donate for prize draws at the larger shoots, It is sometimes a kit of flags, sometimes rod guides but he donates and that should be considered when buying stuff. It's good to buy from a supplier that gives back to the sport.

I have one of the Hood double vane flag I would part with if anywone wants it. It would be easy to copy if anyone just has to have them.
