Anybody try this in a 6x47 Lapua, it looks to be in between 4350 and 4831? It is spherical to boot!

It isn't spherical it is an extruded double base powder but it meters well. It is much more temp sensative than H4350 so I hav'nt used it much, however it is cooler burning than H4350 so I'm considering having a go with it in my 6mm Creedmoor. I think it is very similar to RE17 but a little finer granules.

I tried it when it first came out, cant say it impressed me much, I got a lot of speed out of it, but never got much accuracy out of it, whent back to 4350 and been happy.

How does R17 work in the 6x47L? What loads are some of you using?

I also tried RE17, and found it to be dirty, I got good speed, but could not get the accuracy I desired. I went back to 4350, and been happy.

I'd try between 39-40gr of RL17 use a cci450 primer.you should find something in that window with 105-108gr bullets.BUT- I still like H4350.

I have been using 4350 with good results, but I was just wondering if anything was better. I currently use 40 grns 4350 and br4 primer with 105 VLD's.
Well maybe I will just stick with 4350.

Howdy !

If your wanting soemthing on-the-order of a " ball " equivalent of IMR4350, might I suggest you try some surplus "D85" powder.

In my 6mm wildcat (case capacity very close to that of 6 X 47 ) D85 gave performance that struck me as it being basically just that.

I've tried H100V in several different cartridges; have yet to find anything that it shoots real well in. My 6x47s shoot much more consistently with N160 or Ramshot Hunter, plus I can get more velocity out of either than with H100V. I'd sure like to find a good use for it, since I've got about 14lbs. of it left.

What is the starting load for N160 w/105-107 gr? Im SLOWLY assembling a 6-44 to shoot these bullets and was wondering about some reference data.

Works well in a 22-250 too.
