Well, we just knew that eventually we'd get caught with Mother Nature in a bad mood. :D Rain, rain and more rain greeted all those who braved the weather report and showed up for today's group match. So after shooting the five matches, some in a major downpour the results are,

In Benchrest Rifle Class (combined LV/HV),

1st. Jim Hutchison .2112" agg
2nd. Tim Groleua .2238" agg
3rd. Steve Robbins .243" agg

Small Group, Rick Averil .073.

In Factory Rifle,
1st. Bob Zimmer .4732" agg
2nd. Charlie Deardoff .5486" agg
3rd. Jim Guinn .6274" agg

Congratulations to both Jim and Bob! They did a great job shooting in some tricky conditions. The Benchrest Rifle class was hotly contested until the final shots were fired. We had 20 people who came to shoot, an outstanding showing for the weather conditions. Thanks to all those who came out to shoot in our first match of the season. Great to see old friends and a couple new competitors.

Al, what exactly is your Factory Rifle class compitition? Is it factory guns or full blown bench guns?
What state is your range located?
Dave T

Dave Factory rifle class is for unmodified factory rifles. You can rework the trigger and bed the rifle, the barrel has to be factory without a modified chamber. You can recrown the barrel.

Harrison is located in Northern Michigan.

Thanks Al, gosh I wish I lived closer to Michigan, I have a couple stock factory guns that I would love to shoot in a match like yours. We tried that at our club and the first couple matches went well but then after most of the guys found out that there ground hog guns weren't what they thought they were we couldn't get enough people to keep it going. Do you shoot 5 shot groups in your factory class?
Dave T

Yes, five shot groups for Factory Class on the same targets that the BR rifles use. We've had a few shooters who have started off with factory rifles and graduated to benchrest rifles, myself included.
