I have been using 155 scenars and N150 powder in my .308. While the groups that are produced are consistant at 1 moa and a little smaller on a good day at 100 yards, I think there is much room for improvement. So in an effort to get smaller groups I decided to mix things up to see what happens. I ordered a faster powder (N133) and some heavier bullets.(175 grain Berger vld) What I am going to do is try the heavier bullet with the current powder (N155) and try the lighter 155 Scenars with the faster N133 powder and see what happens.

My original entent for the N133 was to launch 50 grain vmax bullets at coyotes with my .223. After seeing that N133 can also be used for .308 I decided to experiment. Am I on the right track by combininhg slower powders with heavier bullets and lighter bullets with faster powders.

Shoot strait and often

I think you may have gone a little too fast with the N133... N135 does get used by some folks for 155gr Palma loads as well as N150. For some reason N140 doesn't get a lot of love; a few people like it but nobody seems to really rave about it... other than the GB Palma team that cleaned up @ the Palma Championships with it pushing a B155LTB along at a pokey 2840-2850fps...

N133 does work pretty well with 50-55gr pills in .223, so it should still be good for that use.

No experience w/ Viht. powders and 175gr bullets so I'll have to pass that one to someone else.

Ron,

You're on the right track with "slower powder for larger bullets and faster powder for smaller bullets."

That said, stick with the reloading manuals' recommendations.

Fast powder and heavy bullets will getcha' killed.
