I cant seem to make out much about these threading tool's from the catalog, anyone try them yet ?

For the few barrels a year I mess with, I havent been able to justify indexable threading tooling and have always been a HSS kind of guy.
But the cost of these ($15 tools & $2 inserts) seem's to almost make sharpening HSS a waste of time :(

TIA for any info
Cheers, YV

Don't waste the $17 on the Grizzly tooling. Buy a real indexable setup or use what you have been using. I got some of this stuff with my lathe and quickly realized it was not up to par.

Threading tools and holders..

Get yourself a Thin Bit tool holder for free with the purchase of 10 bits. I always get 1 or 2 carbide for cast/non ferrous, 1 or 2 Carbide for hard steels and stainless. I get 1 or 2 for acme threads and the rest out of HSS with .020 radius for barrels. Best $200.00 I ever spent. Over the years I have put together a real collection of the Thin Bit tool holders and boring bars.
