Gray Area in Rule Book Question (Trophies)

Concerning Trophies, Page 53 in the NBRSA Rule Book states that 3 Places in Each Aggregate; 5 Places in Grand Aggregates; Small Group at Each Yardage; and 5 Places for "2-Gun", "3-Gun" and "4-Gun" will be awarded.

This paragraph refers to National Trophies.

My question is about Regional Match trophies. Does this rule apply to Regional Matches as well, or does the Host Club have some leeway about how they will award trophies?

Thinking about combining a Hunter and VFS weekend match and keeping the trophies to a manageable and affordable level.

Thanks. Need a little help understanding this or is this a grey area.

The only restriction concerning awards at the Region Level is a Region can only hold one "money match". Other than that, it is up to each individule club as to what they present as awards.

There is no rule saying you have to give anything.

I assume you will be at the last BOD meeting next weekend. I will try to keep the same dates for my Club Matches, working the second Varmint for Score Match in is going to be the problem.

I see what you mean about the awards thing. In all honesty, it did not dawn on me that when combining Varmint for Score with HBR, we would also be doubling our expenses for awards. This sort of defeats the purpose of the entire endevour.

Iam beginning to wish that the NBRSA had made Varmint foe Score a LV-HV two Gun event, just like in group, thus allowing clubs to hold two day matches with a distict difference in the classes.

Oh well, as Rossanne Rosanna-Danna said, "it's always something".......jackie

I have seen more and more

cirtificates given for the placings below first. I must say, I am glad to see it. The only plaques I care about anymore are first place. The certificates don't take up a lot of room the page protector in a binder.

I wonder why only one "money match" allowed..???
Is there an underlying motive.???

The only one money shoot per region was put in the rules back in the 50's or 60's. The rule was added because all shoots back then were money shoots and the clubs could charge any fee they wanted too. So the board put only one money shoot a year per region and this helped keep shoot registration fees down.
