four degrees at three AM

Four degrees at three am.

Rolled outta bed bout three am
My tootsies hit da floor
Looked at the old thermometer
All it said was four

Tiptoed to the old wood stove
Reach down and pull the pin
Drug that rusty door on back
Grab some wood and shoved it in

Hustled on to the inside out house
Tonight I’m glad it’s in
Flipped the bathroom light on
And Done my business then

It’s cold as hell in this old house
So cold I laughed with glee
To cold to tiptoe bare foot
But I jest had to, ya see

Were in a poor situation
No insulation in these walls
It’s cold here in the morning
When mother nature calls

It’s cold as heck in this old house
Cold as heck ya see
I’d still be snug there in my bed
But I jest had to, pee:D

Someone apparently doesn't believe in global warming or climate change or whatever it's being called this week. Absolute sacrilege! :D

it's been the longest cold spell here in ten years.....ten days below freezing, weatherman says no change for at least two or three more days:eek:

Many people understand the course of climactic history over geologic time, in terms of natural climatic fluctuations over hundreds or thousands of years. The current political administration is counting on our ignorance to propose legislation to control global warming. I would like to think that we are not as ignorant as our elected officials believe, and that all of our elected officials will soon become “remediated”.

AMEN!

Where I live they have been keeping temperature records since 1934, so 75 years plus. Compared to geological time this is completely inconsequential. People settled the plains during the late 19th century when the climate was wetter and warmer than what is now considered normal. Then it became dry and cooler, so crops didn't grow like they had been.

Too bad the Native Americans from the Clovis people onward didn't keep accurate temperature records so we'd know what "normal" has been since the end of the last Ice Age anyway.

-8 farmington mo. airport 7:35 a.m. it jest don't git that cold
i gotta check my furnace it won't shut off:(

Coldddd down here in

S.E. Looserana. Been below freezing 30 for 4 days, 22 degs this morning. But nothing compared to yoose guys way, way up north. In Shreveport.:D

Haven't been to the range in two weeks. That's unbelieveable for us. It's usually in the high 30's to mid 40's at night and 60's and above during the day.

Hang in there. It'll get better. Someday.)chill(

In Pensacola, if it is below freezing tomorrow morning and it is supposed to be, an all-time record will have been set for consecutive days with below freezing temps. This AM it was 11 F. Average Jan temps here are low of 40 and high of 61. We've been running 20 degrees below norms for most of 2 weeks.

Twas 23*

When Nature called me this morning at 7:45 here in Deland, Fl. Glad to have a heat pump but it has been running about steadily for the last week!

Global surface temperature

Too bad the Native Americans from the Clovis people onward didn't keep accurate temperature records so we'd know what "normal" has been since the end of the last Ice Age anyway.

Here is a graph of global surface temperature since the last ice age. We are higher now by about 0.5 C than the long term average at any time in the last 12000 years.

If it wasn't for global warming, my house would still be under 3/4 of a mile of ice. Not sure what the "Normal" temp should be, but it could warm up a bunch and I'll still be comfortable.

In Northern Wisconsin.

It's winter here in MISSOURI

And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love MISSOURI

When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave MISSOURI

I'm frozen to the ground!
