Larry Deese, the owner and builder of this new facility, invited a bunch of his friends to come up and shoot today. Tomball members Dwayne and Richard Pullim, Ed Bernabeo, Gary Walters, Dale Metzger, Larry Saavedra, and myself spent the day shooting.
Larry will be holding five matches this year, beginning with a 100-200 VFS April 2, and 300 VFS match April 3. There will be a 100-200-300 Heavy Varmint Group Match June 18-19. August 28 will be a 100-200 VFS, and Sept 25 will also be a 100-200 VFS. These are all NBRSA Registered Matches.
The web site for the range is www.walkercobr.com. He has pictures of the range being built, I took some today, the place is about 90% ready. There is a generous loading pavilion just behind the firing line, and the benches are well designed and sturdy.
I could only get one picture to download, this Web Site seems to lack the capacity for certain pictures.
Larry decided to do all of this on his own, so let's all plan on supporting the effort. It's not everyday that an individule takes on a project like this, for no other reason than the love of shooting. It's a welcome addition to the Gulf Coast Region.
