This weekend (Super Bowl weekend, Phoenix Open Golf Match) we held the Arizona Light and Heavy Varmint Championships. The overflow crowd from the Golf match came out to watch our group shooting match. (wouldn't that be nice).
The weather for the weekend was decent (for afternoon temps) wind was very tricky with no predominate condition. We had it all. It was difficult to shoot 5 good groups for a nice agg.
We had 2 out of towners win both grands. Tyler Adams (who shoots once every 2 years) won the Light Varmint Grand with a .2900 and Terry Meyer (NBRSA President) won the Heavy Varmint Grand with a .2199.
The 2-Gun Champion is Keith Cottrell (Calif.) shooting a .2603.
The 3-Gun Champion is also Keith Cottrell shooting a .2587
Winning the 4 Gun is Chuck Miller with a .2452. Chuck won the 5shot Unlimited the month before with a .1509. That small Grand helped Chuck pass Keith for the 4 -Gun.
This Months contest also served as a Cactus Warm-up match. Looking at the aggregates, there are a bunch of us that have work to do.
It was announced at the match that if you want to practice for the Cactus Classic match the range will be available for practice on Monday the 9th through the 13th. Also please keep in mind that we are required to pay the Ben Avery Facility $6.00 per day/shooter for use of the range.
Attached is most of the Feb. match data.
