Factory ammo
mrmossyoak: Most factory ammo, while good, is still "0ne-size-fits-all". You will not realize the full potential of your rifle until you are reloading for it. That being said though, I can understand your interest in the "best" factory ammo out there, for the 223 Rem./ one of my favorite "do-all" cartridges. The Federal "Gold Medal Match" has an excellent reputation, but naturally rather pricey. "Black Hills" also has an excellent reputation with their reloads, blue box using reloaded brass, or red box with new brass. At the less costly end, but still has a good record is the "prvi partizan" and "Sellier & Bellot", both made in Europe, and the Winchester white box "USA" (made in Isreal?), all good. With a 1-12 twist, you will probably be limited to approx. ( all rifles are at least a little different) the 60 gr. bullet weights/length, to stabilize. Some will disagree, but if accuracy is your main concern, stay away from the full-metal- jacket bullets. Best accuracy will be with hollow-points ( first choice) and the polymer tip, like Nosler & V-Max by Hornady. If the ammo you use is boxer primed, be sure to keep the brass cases for the day when you may want to begin reloading: been there, done that, 49 years ago.
