I have a friend that wants to start shooting in factory class. He wanted to know what are the scope limitations in this class. Or does it vary by range. Thanks for the help.
Dale, at this point, there are no "official" rules for factory class and each range has it's own. I have never heard of any limits on scope power for factory class.
Good to hear from you Wayne, I miss seeing all of you..Job change, financial change, health change. See u next month. I was ready for today but had an important project at work I had to take care of. I am sure someone will be glad to see me, I will move him out of last place.
what kind of scores are they shooting these days in factory class. i started out in 1998 with a heavy barrel rem 308 and it would shoot 250,s and 12 to 14 x,s done it many times at sulpher springs and union county. i still have the shooters news magazines with the scores listed. kept them for memories sake.
There are no official rules for a factory class; either from the IBS or NBRSA who govern registered matches. It's up to the local clubs at their club shoot matches to declare the rules. This will vary from club to club and the match director involved.
Heres what I remember what it use to be. Generally they were remington 700s and model 70's a few savage bolt rifles etc.
Factory rifle weighs 7 1/2 pound with scope not to exceed 6x power. any caliber above 22.
Case capacity must be at least 30/30. No electronic triggers. stock must be convex not to exceeed 2 inch wide.
glass bedding allowed also worked triggers. Rifle must be unaltered from the factory , no custom bbls etc
It was a tough class '''
