Hello all,
I have a Browning Abolt micro hunter in 22-250. It is a 20 in bbl and 1/14 twist if I remember correctly. Scope is Leupold VX 3LR 4.5x14 30mm tube AO and leupy bases and rings. It tends to be rather eratic and I am not sure why and thought maybe some of you fellas may have some ideas.
Sighted dead on at 200 yards. Next time I check zero it might be 4 inches high and 3 inches off to the side....resight it in and next time I check the zero at the range it is 4 inches low and 5 inches left. It generally holds about 1 inch groups. I have cleaned every 25 shots or so with butches and JB bore compound and borebright.
Bedding maybe?
No idea. Also, does a guy normally see quite a difference in terms of point of impact using a rest and bag and then switch to a bipod and the same rear bag? I zeroed it using an adjustable front rest and then just pop by the range and check the zero using my bipod and it goes from 1 inch to 3 or 4 inches @ 100yards or worse. I had a lucky 3 shot group @ 200 yards that you can hide under a dime and then I checked my zero about 3 wks later and I cant keep them on a paper plate at the same distance. I shot two of my other rifles that same day in the same conditions and both stayed about 1 inch @ 200yrds but the Abolt was all over and seems to have no cure.
I am about ready to run it thru a woodchipper and buy somthing else.
Thanks fellas,
Jaybic
