The first East Texas Championship in Huntsville, Tx. is in the books. We filled all the slots with 36 shooters, two were junior shooters. It was 100 degrees, the winds were strong, and the mirage heavy.
Jason Leavelle was the winner, paid $600 for first
Dr. Darrel Martin was second, paid $400 for second
Tymn Combest was third, paid $200 for third
Arthur McMeans was fourth, paid $100 for fourth
Pudge Morris was the Junior Division winner
The team shoot had 11 three man teams entered, teams were random drawn from the shooters that wanted to participate. Dennis Reed added an extra $100 to the pot, making the total payout for the team shoot $430.00
I don't have the team results, maybe Dennis can post for me.
The pistol raffle for the Springfield XD donated by Able Ammo brought in $1400 for the Defenders of Freedom charity that helps returning war veterans.
Stick Starks, S and S Precision, donation provided the placques for first thru tenth place and high junior.
Scott Deal donated embroidered caps for all the shooters.
Tim Beasley donated beer mugs with engraved match logo to first thru tenth place.
Jone Jones, one of the Tomball Club members donated a McMillian stock, 1000 Federal primers, and 1000 Berger bullets for door prizes.
My target changing crew had the worst job of the day with the heat index of 106. They worked non-stop from 8 to 3 then stayed and helped clean up.
Thanks to Greg Wright, Robert Woodall, Annie Beasley, and Amanda Summers for their hard work.
Thanks to Tymn Combest for the computer program and working with Annie on the stats.
Next year the East Texas Championship Match will be held in March or April, I will pick a date soon and post it. We plan on adding 3 benches soon to give us 15 and increasing the shooters to 45. We hope to double the prize money next year.
