Ear protection request

Good morning guys (M/F, transgender) to be political correct.
I'm in need of some info on low profile ear muffs that won't be bumping the stock while shooting from a bench.
I'm in a pinch with time and have to get to work.
Talk later, Tom

I have found that the 21 db shotgun muffs are the lowest profile of standard over the ear muffs, and because their rating is insufficient for CF rifle or pistol shooting, I combine them with 33 DB rated Howard Leight foam plugs. The combination seems to give good protection and does not bump my stocks. I have other types of protection, but this combination is what I usually end up using. Another option that has advantages for hot weather are these. http://www.sensgard.com/shop/sensgard-nrr-31
If you put them on properly, they do a surprisingly good job, are very light, and cool.

i pass on muffs when rifle shooting, use ear plugs only.
even low profile seem to bump the rifle.

You WILL suffer ear damage, count on it.
Molded radians plugs are a cheap DIY setup under Howerd Leight electric headphones which are very slim, several of us use them, both on Ebay.

To hell with PC and such.

As to protecting your hearing use good muffs designed for shooters AND use earplugs.

I hear you. Pun intended. I was just being a wise guy on the PC.
Thanks for some input to all. I seem to have extra hairy ears and and an over load of oil production going on in both ears.
I was hoping to stay clear of the plugs , they just push the junk back in for me. What i'm looking for is some short type muffs.
Ones that don't hang low or maybe super small , about the size of an ear. Any of you hear (here we go again) of such a unit?
Thanks , Tom

Howard leight ear plugs 33db rating and same company impaxt sport muffs for low profile style.

We have switched to the impact pro and the plugs and are very happy except that the amplification of sound is not as good with the pros. This means that normal conversation with the plugs and muffs on is harder to hear.
But we are better protected.
Mike
